Headache Relief with Useful Home Remedies for Headache

Headaches can affect anyone and everyone. It is a pain in the head, involving the area above the eyes or ears, behind the head or back of the upper neck. The muscles or blood vessels in the head, the neck to swell, tighten, or undergo other changes that put pressure on nerves and cause environment headache.

What are the types of pain head?

There are two types of headaches –

1. Primary headaches – accounts for 90% of all headaches. This is not related to any other disease. There are three types of primary headaches –

a. Tension headaches – associated with stress, anxiety and depression.

b. pain cluster head – occur daily over a long period.

c. migraine.

2. secondary headache – associated with an underlying condition such as cerebro-vascular disease, head trauma, infection, tumor or metabolic disease (like diabetes, thyroid problems). In these cases, the underlying disease should be diagnosed and treated.

3. One can also suffer from something called "mixed" headache in which tension headaches or secondary headaches triggers migraine headaches.

What causes headaches?

Almost everyone must have had an experience of pain head at one time or another. Headaches are more common in women and in people with genetic background headaches.

Tension headaches are caused by stress, muscle tension, vascular dilation, postural changes, prolonged coughing or sneezing, and fever.
Physical conditions that can lead to muscle tension and therefore headaches include:

* Anxiety

* Arthritis in neck or spinal cord

* Degenerative diseases of the bones in the neck or spine

* Depression

Cluster headaches may be due to alcohol abuse or side effects of certain medications, including drugs that dilate or constrict blood vessels. A low level of endorphins (natural painkillers compounds found in the brain) can cause severe and frequent or chronic headaches.

Other common factors that make people more prone to headaches are –

* Constipation

* Acidity

* Excessive consumption of tea, coffee, nicotine

* A deficiency of oxygen in the blood

* Approximation a menstrual cycle (for women)

* Session too close to the TV

* Reading to insufficient light or a moving vehicle

Causes of secondary headache vary from life threatening conditions such as brain tumors, cerebral stroke, meningitis, brain hemorrhages less disease serious as the withdrawal of the drug, caffeine.

The symptoms of headache -

Signs that indicate the presence of a headache:

* A constant dull pain in the head.

* Nausea

* Trouble sleeping

* Loss of appetite

* Feeling sick

The diagnosis of a headache?

In most cases of headache, there is no need visit the doctor. A very strong headache that appears suddenly, or one that gets worse rather than better over time requires medical investigation.
Even One can identify the type of headache, being a little warning. Each time you have a headache, take note of how bad it is, where is the pain, other symptoms, and if some kind of pattern.

This can help identify triggers, which thus can be avoided.
If a headache is accompanied by other symptoms such as fever or changes in vision or speech, or memory loss, one should immediately consult a doctor.

Trying headaches?

Tension headaches can be alleviated by using relaxation techniques, or the use of OTC analgesics.

* Take a pain reliever such as aspirin, dispirin usually works well.

* You can also take anti-inflammatory painkillers such as ibuprofen as an alternative. Anti-inflammatory may be more effective than normal pain in some people.

A word of warning –

As with all medicines, always follow the instructions of the band. Prolonged use of painkillers will eventually cause withdrawal headaches, they should not be taken continuously for more than a few days to time.

Relaxation techniques are:

* The application of a heating pad on the forehead or neck

* Apply a bit of relief pain balm on the forehead

* The exercise, meditation, breathing exercises, yoga or relaxation exercises

* Handling Chiropractic helps to relieve tension headaches caused by muscle tension due to poor posture. If a person has to sit for long periods, working in a computer or doing repetitive motions, chiropractic often helps to reduce headaches.

* Acupuncture may also help reduce pain and frequency of headaches. It is widely believed that the use fine needles stimulate the nervous system to release endorphins or other chemicals and hormones that affect pain perception.

For chronic headaches, consult a doctor who knows the exact cause and given medication accordingly. People who suffer chronic headaches should avoid pain altogether.

A balanced diet and regular exercise contributes to health and general welfare, and this can help tension headaches are less likely.

Preventive measures for a headache -

* Exercise moderately but regularly.
Avoid exercising in hot weather.

* Reduce stress

* Identify the triggers, such as food, snuff, alcohol. Foods typically include chocolate, dairy products, and caffeine.

* Avoid regular use of analgesics.

* Eat an apple with a little salt on an empty stomach and every day see their remedial effects.

* Mix 1 / 4 teaspoon ground cloves in a teaspoon of cinnamon oil. Apply the mixture to the area of pain. This is very effective home remedy for headache

* Place your thumbs on the center of each temple. Massage firmly using a circular motion until you feel relief.

* Eat 10-12 almonds, a migraine headache.

* Put your hands in hot water, which removes the pressure of the head.

* Cottage cheese should be avoid, especially at night.

* Juice of carrot, spinach, or beet and cucumber juice has been found beneficial in the treatment of migraine.

* Try to relax and keep your mind free from anxiety, anger, mental tension and worry.
